ICON Aircraft Reaches Milestone with 200th A5 Amphibious Light Sport Aircraft

ICON Aircraft has announced the successful assembly of its 200th A5 amphibious light sport aircraft (LSA). The first A5s were delivered to customers back in 2017, and the company now reports owners located in "30 states and 13 countries across five continents." ICON manufactures the A5 at its facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

Jerry Meyer, CEO of ICON, expressed the significance of this achievement, stating, "Building 200 A5s is a significant milestone for us as a company and for the hundreds of ICON employees who have worked tirelessly to get this incredible airplane into the hands of owners. It has been quite a journey, and the best reward is seeing owners out there flying their A5s, having their own adventures, and connecting with our growing community."

ICON currently maintains a production rate of between 4 and 5 airplanes per month. The A5, powered by the Rotax 912 engine, is a two-seat aircraft known for its top speed of 95 knots, a range of 427 nautical miles, and a useful load of 430 pounds. It features the Garmin G3X Touch flight display, a unique folding wing design, and a whole-airframe parachute system for added safety.
