Named in honor of NASA astronaut and Space Shuttle mission specialist Laurel Clark, the S.S. Laurel Clark is scheduled to dock with the ISS this Friday (Aug. 4). Captivating the world with its purposeful mission, the spacecraft pays tribute to a true space hero. Laurel Clark, also a medical doctor and U.S. Navy captain, tragically lost her life in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster alongside her six fellow crew members. In recognition of her bravery and dedication to space exploration, Clark was posthumously awarded the esteemed Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
