Gulfstream Aerospace has announced that Rolls-Royce's Pearl 700 engines have achieved certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Developed at Rolls-Royce's Centre of Excellence for Business Aviation engines in Dahlewitz, Germany, the Pearl 700 engine model had previously received its European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification in 2022. These engines were specifically tailored to power Gulfstream's innovative G700 and G800 business jets.
Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream, expressed enthusiasm for this recent milestone, highlighting its significance in the pursuit of G700 and G800 certification. These Gulfstream jets are poised to set new benchmarks for efficiency and performance within the business aviation industry, combining Gulfstream's advanced aerodynamics with the exceptional efficiencies of the Pearl 700 engines.
As both the Gulfstream G700 and G800 near the conclusion of their flight test programs, they promise impressive specifications. The G700 is anticipated to achieve a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935 and offer a range of 7,750 nautical miles at Mach 0.85. Meanwhile, the G800, which completed its maiden flight in June 2022, will boast a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925 and deliver an impressive range of 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85. These aircraft feature Gulfstream's state-of-the-art Symmetry flight deck and introduce an innovative new winglet design.
