Textron Aviation is unveiling a new sustainability initiative, SustainableAdvantage, in response to the rising demand for carbon mitigation options from its customers who own Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft.
As part of Textron Aviation's ProAdvantage suite of products, SustainableAdvantage is a collaborative effort with industry sustainability solutions provider 4Air. The program offers aircraft owners an additional avenue to reduce their carbon emissions footprint, allowing users to offset their emissions to 4Air’s Bronze (carbon neutral) tier.
Scheduled to launch in January, the program involves 4Air managing a portfolio of verified carbon reduction projects globally. Owners participating in SustainableAdvantage can utilize carbon offsets derived from these projects to counterbalance their aircraft's emissions. 4Air will furnish personalized annual reports to participating aircraft owners, detailing their offset purchases. Furthermore, the program will offer monitoring and compliance reporting to meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and the EU’s Emissions Trading System (ETS).
Nancy Bsales, Chief Operating Officer of 4Air, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "Our relationship with Textron Aviation acknowledges the many strides we have made in the industry to make sustainability more accessible. We are excited to provide Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker owners with sustainable options that address and meet their environmental commitments and goals."
