The U.S. military has announced a temporary grounding of all V-22 Osprey tiltrotors following a fatal crash off the coast of Japan. The preliminary investigation revealed evidence of material failure, prompting the U.S. Air Force to halt operations. The grounding includes around 400 Ospreys operated by the U.S. Marine Corps, 51 U.S. Navy aircraft, and 27 Ospreys used by the USAF Special Operations Command. This precautionary measure, also observed by Japan, aims to mitigate risks while investigations into the crash continue. The cause of the material failure is yet to be determined.
